Meet David
Southern.
Ace Law Tutor is led by David Southern, a Hong Kong-qualified legal professional with experience in litigation, arbitration and international business.
David has worked as a Hong Kong solicitor, barrister and international in-house legal counsel. His experience spans litigation, arbitration and cross-border commercial matters. He was called to the Hong Kong Bar in 2014.
His qualifications include an LLB from the University of Liverpool, an LLM from Cardiff University, a PCLL from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and an Oxford Diploma in International Arbitration. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators.
LEGAL KNOWLEDGE & LANGUAGE SUPPORT
David was appointed to the HKU SPACE OLQE teaching team for 2026. He also leads an IELTS course at HKU SPACE, bringing experience in both legal education and English-language teaching.
He supports students whose first language is not English to develop their legal English, understand legal terminology and express their analysis clearly in written answers and discussions.
